Who are we?

The Akhara of Champions is an institution founded upon the dedication and commitment of its coaches and more notably its athletes.  The athletes are what make this club a success and by catering to male and female athletes of all ages in the Peel Region it is inevitable that we require responsible and respectable athletes.

 We coach the Olympic Sports of Freestyle and Greco Roman style wrestling and our club will soon be coaching other martial arts.  With that in mind, as coaches we recognize the amount of effort and commitment we require of our athletes and although wrestling is a challenging sport, our athletes ability to take on the challenge and persevere allows us to run such a successful program.

 Thus, at the Akhara of Champions, our goal is to provide the best possible development opportunities for our athletes year round through intense, regular practices and in return all we ask is for the dedication, commitment and hard work of our athletes.  Success is inevitable should our athletes follow through with these three key goals and if anything, we are going to support the growth of our athletes at every stage of their failures which will turn into success

As an athlete, you are expected to take responsibility to attend all practices and tournaments, while allowing yourself to get involved within the team atmosphere.  We are lucky to work with an athlete like yourself and in turn we hope you gain from the knowledge we will bestow to you this year for the rest of your lives on and off the mat.   .
